Run for our charities of the year

We also have many other great charities with entries to the Richmond Running Festival. Click here to find out more.

10% of the race entry fee (plus additional contributions and Gift Aid) will feed directly to our two official charities. In time we hope to develop a small charity program that meets the above criteria and also gives back to the Borough of Richmond and neighboring communities. We are proud to announce that this year we are working with two great local charities: Mo Farah Foundation and The Poppy Factory. Please take time to find out more about them and how you can get involved with the great work they do.

About us

Over 60 million people in East Africa have been affected by the worst drought to hit the region in over 60 years with the hardest hit areas being Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Unable to survive on the already sparse supply of food and water, millions of people are migrating hundreds of miles by foot in search of refugee camps. Tragically many won’t survive the journey with hundreds of thousands of children predicted to perish as a result.

About us

The Poppy Factory’s vision is that no disabled veteran who would like to work is out of work. Ex-Service men and women have experiences and skills that are invaluable for companies today however, an injury or illness can shatter their lives. These veterans deserve practical, emotional and financial support to help them find meaningful employment.

Founded in 1922 The Poppy Factory has been providing employment for disabled veterans for over 90 years. Still based in the historic factory in Richmond, The Poppy Factory’s team of disabled staff continue its traditional work, making around 12 million poppies and 100,000 wreaths for Remembrance Day each year. Today, The Poppy Factory’s main activity is a national employability programme,Getting You Back to Work. This specialist service makes use of the factory’s experience to help others overcome the barriers that they face and to find and sustain jobs within commercial organisations throughout the UK.
