In September 2014, the Richmond Running Festival repeated NIKE Kids’ Mile for 1,000 children between the ages of 5-15 years. Every participant was awarded a top quality medal, NIKE running t-shirt as well as meeting local Olympians inspiring a new generation of athletes. The aim is to make running and being active fun!

Charlotte Purdue - Junior European Cross Country Gold Medalist (2010). Trains in Teddington/ Bushy Park. NIKE athlete.

An amazing 700 Children participated in the inaugral Richmond Running Festival Nike Kids Mile and 500m races. The talent from all the children who competed in the races was outstanding. Parents and teachers, thank you for your support, and a huge thank you to our volunteers and to Real Runners. Our aim was to build an Olympic legacy and we are now a huge step closer to achieving this.
With the support of Nike, every child received a Richmond Running Festival medal, a Nike Technical T-Shirt and met winner of the Richmond Running Festival and 2012 Olympian Chris Thompson.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE KIDS RACE. WE WILL BE SELLING 200 ENTRIES FROM 11.30AM ON RACEDAY FROM THE KIDS REGISTRATION TENT BUT THIS IS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.
ENTRIES WILL BE £15 ON RACE DAY.
The Nike Kids Mile was created after 2012 with the help of NIKE UK as part of our Olympic Legacy. To celebrate our first Olympic cycle our little runners will be paced by GB Olympians and 1,000 places will be donated to selected local schools for free!
With the help of our partner NIKE, every child will be chip timed and receive the best NIKE race t-shirt and cool medal. Race starts after the adult races in Old Deer Park with live bands cheering on our stars of the future.

NIKE KIds Mile & 500m Race Schedule

Packet Pick Up
Registration will be open from 11:30am to collect your child's race number and timing chip. Kids registration is located at the entrance to Old Deer Park. Please arrive early to collect your entry and enjoy the live music, bar and champagne tent, kids activities and fitness expo.
T-shirt pick up will be open from 12:00pm to collect your childs' t-shirt before the race. T-shirt pick up is located next to registration. Medals will be rewarded after the race at the finish line.
Nike Kids start will be clearly indicated by the huge start arch. 10mins before the race children will told to organised in our holding pen where they will be warmed up by a local athlete.
The finish is the adult finish gantry near the music stage and children will walk round to the exit by our staff. Parents are not allowed in this area and will be handed back to parents at the end of the finishing shoot once the parent is identified. We ask parents to assist our staff by being patient during this time.
Results will feature on our event website at the end of Sunday.
